כַּנָּאch. sam( כֵּן II, with suff. כַּנּ־, m. (b. h.; כּוּן or כָּנַן) social status), 1) base, fixed place, line.Pl. כַּנַּיָּיא. Ber.57b בכַנַּיְיהוּ חזי (Ms. M. בב׳) he saw them (in his dream) in the regular places (as planted in the field). V. כַּנְהָא. 2) kanna, a small measure (v. preced.). Keth.99b; Meïl. 21b כ׳ כ׳ בפרוטה each k. for a Prutah (no reduction for larger quantities).Pl. כַּנֵּי. Ib.
